ARCHDALE – Bessie Cox Myers, 93, died Wednesday, October 14, 2020, at Westwood Health and Rehab where she had resided for the last seven years.
She was born June 8, 1927, in High Point and was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Minnie Cruthis Cox. She was a faithful and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Myers; daughter, Cindy Brown; son-in-law, Ken Fields; and seven siblings, Ila Davis, Lester Cox, Irene Loflin, Bertha Wall, Jean Pietzsch, Jay Cox, and Jacqueline Cox-Huddleston.
Bessie is survived by three daughters, Brenda Fields of Archdale, Shirley Myers (Kenneth) of High Point, and Sue Lanier (Randy) of Trinity; son-in-law, Mike Brown of High Point; eight grandchildren, Tony Peele (Kim), Andy Peele (Emily), Kevin Myers (Donna), Jennifer Hill (Mike), Luke Lanier (Ashley), Jonathan Lanier (Kayla), Ashley Parsons (Terrance), and Lindsey Brown; nineteen great-grandchildren.
Service celebrating Bessie’s life will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, October 17, 2020, in the Chapel of the Floral Garden Memorial Park Mausoleum with Andy Peele and Sandra Huddleston-Edward officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. For the safety of all, masks should be worn and friends are asked to practice safe social distancing.
