Betty Jean (Rivenbark) Carter

Mrs. Betty Jean Rivenbark Carter, 85, resident of Thomasville, died August 16, 2018 at Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington.

She was born November 12, 1932 in Mecklenburg County, NC, a daughter to the late Willis and Gladys Thames Rivenbark.  A resident of this area most of her life, she had attended Lexington Ave. Baptist Church and was retired from AmeriGas.  On May 10, 1955, she married Melvin Mitchell Carter who preceded her in death in 2010.

Surviving is her niece, Sandra Yokley and husband Bucky of Thomasville.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Sunday in the chapel of the Cumby Family Funeral Service in High Point.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  Memorials may be directed to Hinkle Hospice House, 202 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC, 27292.
