Mrs. Betty Lou Taylor Gallaher, 89, formerly of Jamestown, died July 29, 2020 at the home of her son.
Mrs. Gallaher was born February 12, 1931 in Stokes County, a daughter to the late Dell C. and Della Moorefield Taylor. She was a resident of this area since 1949 until moving to Raleigh eight years ago. While in this area, she was a member of First United Methodist Church and retired from Wachovia Bank after 33 years of service. She loved eating ice cream, playing cornhole, and watching sports on television…..especially pro wrestling and Duke Basketball. On June 25, 1949, she married William Henry Gallaher who preceded her in death in 2009. She was also preceded in death by ten siblings.
Surviving is her son, William Gallaher and wife Paula of Raleigh; two grandchildren, Chelsea Marie Gallaher and Jeremy Taylor Gallaher; and her sister, Ann Jeffords of Atlantic Beach.
A crypt side service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 1, in the mausoleum chapel at Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery in Greensboro. Mrs. Gallaher will lie in state for viewing 30 minutes prior to the service in the chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to SarahCare of Lake Boone Trail, 2245 Gateway Access Pt.
