Betty Nance, a resident of Westchester Manor, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, October 12, 2020. She was born on February 3, 1936, in Forsyth County to the late John Fred Shoaf and Sara Tuttle Shoaf. She was 84 years old. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ralph Nance and a brother Donald Wayne Shoaf. She is survived by two nieces, Jill Shoaf Hoppa (Tony) of Apex and Heather Shoaf of Asheboro. She leaves behind a nephew, Timothy Shoaf (Susan) of Kernersville, and five grand nephews. She also leaves behind her friend of over forty year and caregiver, Jackie Albertson (Eugene) of High Point.
Betty spent many years working at Wesleyan Children's Center in High Point. While employed there she worked in the toddler room, where she loved taking care of the little ones and telling them about Jesus. Later, she went to work for Wesleyan Arms Senior Living in the laundry department. She loved people of all ages.
Betty was a member of Hayworth Wesleyan Church where she had at one time been a member of the sanctuary choir. She attended Hayworth Church faithfully until moving into Weschester Manor. After moving to Westchester Manor she attended the services there. She loved going to church.
A memorial service will be held at Hayworth Memorial Wesleyan Church on Saturday, October 17 at 1:00pm. The service will be conducted by Reverend Brian Matherlee and Reverend David Emery.
The family requests that memorials be directed to Hayworth Christian School, 1696 Westchester Drive, High Point, NC 27265. The family wishes to express gratitude to Jackie and Eugene Albertson for their years of dedication to Betty.
