Mrs. Bonnie Myers Spencer, 82, resident of Archdale, died June 16, 2021 at Hospice Home at High Point.
She was born October 3, 1938 in Davidson County, a daughter to the late Ernest and Treva Payne Myers. She grew up in Thomasville and spent her adult life in the Archdale area where she worked as a teacher’s assistant for 30 years in the public school system. She also was a member of Trinity Memorial United Methodist Church.
Surviving is a daughter, Kathy Porter and husband Ed of Charlotte; a son, David Spencer and wife Charlene of High Point; a sister, Nancy Jackson of Shallotte; and six grandchildren, Ryan Spencer, Katie Porter Page, Kelsey Porter Berry, Emerson Porter, Jake Porter, and Macy Spencer. She was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Spencer, in 2018.
Bonnie was a loving person who never met a stranger. She loved spending time with her family, enjoying fun times with friends, and making special meals and topping it off with her famous sweet tea. She loved traveling, pulling for her beloved Tar Heels, and spoiling her grandchildren and little toy poodle Abby. Her Bell Tower will forever be lit in victory for a life well lived.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 24, in the chapel of the Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale with Minister Chris Porter officiating. The interment will follow at Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery in Greensboro. Visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m. prior to the service Thursday at the funeral home.
