Bonnie Elizabeth (Sciple) Sturgis

Colfax, NC – Mrs. Bonnie Elizabeth Sciple Sturgis, 79, passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2020, at Novant Health in Kernersville, NC.

Born November 27, 1940, in Mobile, AL, Bonnie was the daughter of the late James Sciple and Ruth Ferne Lundy Sciple. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Sturgis, and her brother, Jim Sciple. Bonnie had been a resident of the High Point/ Colfax area since November 2016, having moved here from Lynn Haven, FL. She had a passion for art, and was a very talented and accomplished artist, specializing in watercolors and oil paintings. In the 1990’s, Bonnie owned and operated an art gallery where she also taught.

Surviving are her children, Mark Sturgis and wife, Laura, and Linda Y. Delle; grandchildren, Ken Sturgis and wife, Victoria, and Allison Cecil and husband, Nathaniel; great grandchildren, Emma and Anthony Cecil; a sister, Ruth Ann Abercrombie and husband, Donnie; a brother, Tony Sciple and wife, Geri; and her sister-in-law, Joan Sciple.
