Brenda Sue Humphrey

TRINITY- Brenda Sue Humphrey, 74, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, November 11, 2019.

She was born on February 5, 1945 in Banner Elk, NC, to the late Conway and Marjorie Tipton Higgins. A resident of this area most of her life, she was retired from the furniture Industry and was an active member of Caraway Baptist Church, as long as her health permitted. Brenda enjoyed her flowers and shopping. Her true love and passion was spending time with her family; especially her grandchildren and her great grandsons. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother, and will be dearly missed. In addition to her parents, preceding her in death was a brother, Richard Higgins.

She is survived by her husband of 33 plus years; Melvin Humphrey; her children, Lisa Doane, Russell Doane and his wife, Kim; her brother, Walter Higgins; her sisters, Jeanette Layton, Genevieve Bailey, Carolyn Persinger and her husband, Earl. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Olivia Doane, Katie Sexton, and Daniel Sexton; her great grandsons, Daylen, Parker and Tyrion.

A service to celebrate Brenda’s life will be held on Thursday afternoon, November 14, at 2 o’clock, at Cumby Family Funeral service, Archdale, with Pastor Fredie Meadows and Pastor Jim Honeycutt officiating. The committal service will follow at Floral Garden Memorial Park Cemetery. Her family will receive friends Thursday afternoon, from 1 until 1:45, at the funeral home.
