Brenda Smith Stamey

ARCHDALE- Brenda Smith Stamey, 76, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, on the morning of Thursday, May 9, 2019, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on September 5, 1942 in High Point, to the late Henry “Teed” and Christine Brady Smith. A resident of this area all of her life, she was a 1960 graduate of Ragsdale High, and later went to work for AT&T in Greensboro, retiring after many years of service. Brenda loved her church, First Pentecostal Holiness Church in Lexington, where she formerly had served as a board member and secretary of the board, sang in the choir, and was active in other capacities, as long as her health permitted. Her true love and passion was her family and spending time with them; whether she was attending activities her children or grandchildren were involved in, or just cooking a meal for them. She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, and will be dearly missed. In addition to her parents, preceding her in death were a sister, Judy Smith and a brother, Ronnie Smith.

She leaves to cherish her memory; her son, Rob Stone (Beverly); her daughters, Lisa Parsley and Julia Rickard (Keith); her brother, Gary Smith (Alma), and her sister, Betty Jean Cruthis. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Brandi Nolte (Isaac), Amber Harper (Bart), Courtney Ingersoll, Joe Sentell (Heather), and Crystal Sentell; 10 great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

A service to celebrate Brenda’s life will be held on Saturday evening, May 11, at 7 o’clock, in the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale, with Pastor Mark Hopkins and Pastor J.C. Miles officiating. A committal service will be held Monday morning, May 13, at 11 o’clock, at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. Her family will receive friends on Saturday evening from 5:45 until 6:45, at the funeral home.
