ARCHDALE – Buster Watts, 81, went to be with the Lord Monday, June 10, 2019, at High Point Medical Center.
He was born September 6, 1937, in Columbus County, NC and was the son of the late Al and Evelyn Duncan Watts. He was a member of Landmark Baptist Church and retired from Drexel Heritage Furniture following 33 years of service. Buster enjoyed fishing and going to the beach, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Macy Stalvey and Jeanette Lewis; and four brothers, A.C. Watts, Junior Watts, Buck Watts and Lacy Watts.
Buster is survived by his wife, Annette Cagle Watts whom he married on August 6, 1988; five children, Barry Watts of Orlando, FL, Karen Fields (Jeff) and Michael “Mike” Watts, both of Archdale, Sharon Dorsett (Jeff) of Sophia, and Joyce Soult (Wayne) of St. Matthews, SC; two sisters, Grace Ikner (Howard) of Archdale and Annie Pearl Ward of Whiteville; nine grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Funeral service celebrating Buster’s life will be held at 3:00 PM Friday, June 14, 2019, at Landmark Baptist Church with Rev. Amos Mashburn and Rev. Rodney Hedrick officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday, June 13, 2019, at Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale.
