C. Ray Bowers

SOPHIA- C. Ray Bowers, 69, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, May 12, 2018.

He was born on July 6, 1948 in High Point, to the late Grayson and Lelia McMahen Bowers. A resident of this area all his life, he owned and operated Bowers Construction. He had built many houses and completed many building projects in the area over the years. Ray enjoyed fishing and traveling; especially to Morehead City and the Florida Keys. His true love and passion was spending time with his family, friends and most importantly Muffin.  In addition to his parents, preceding him in death was his stepmother, Lenora Bowers.

He is survived by his wife; Nancy Adams Bowers; his daughters, Kim Jarrell and her fiancé, Steve Allen and Donna Bowers; his brother, Kenneth Bowers; his sisters, Susan Clodfelter and her husband, Phil and Patty Shipwash and her husband Jesse; 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, his faithful companion, Muffin and many other special family and friends.

A service to celebrate Ray’s life will be held on Thursday morning, May 17^th, at 11 o’clock, in the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale. His family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 16^th, from 6 until 8 pm at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Ray’s memory may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association, Western Carolina Chapter, 4600 Park Road, Suite 250, Charlotte, NC 28209.
