Carl Edward Miller

TRINITY - Carl Edward Miller, 77, died Sunday, January 24, 2021 at his residence.

He was born November 14, 1943 in West Jefferson and was the son of the late June and Effie Miller Bare. Carl served in the U.S. Army, was an avid hunter and enjoyed fishing. He worked for Thomas Bus Sales and then delivered buses for Kerlin Bus Sales in Silver Lake, Indiana and Edwin H. Davis in Dansville, Ohio. He finished his career with his retirement from American Bus Sales in Annapolis, Maryland.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by daughter, Heather Marie Miller Cunningham; stepdaughter, Stephanie Mackert; stepsons, Dustin Aikens and Robert Key; sisters, Maxine Mabe and Wanda Bare; and brother, Jones Bare.

Carl is survived by his wife of 34 years, Audrey Key Miller; sons, Mark Miller of High Point and Carson Pressley of the home; daughter, Carla Phillips (David) of Asheboro; son-in-law, Anton Mackert III of Trinity; nine grandchildren, Summer Kirkland, Kirsten Phillips, Miles Miller, Anton Mackert IV, Tiffany Mackert, Dylan Mackert, Brayden Cunningham, Addison Cunningham and Tyler Key; sister, Evelyn Money (Ed) of State Road; brothers, Claude Bare (Wanda) of Hamptonville, Willie Bare and Gary Bare, both of Ennice , and Jerry Bare (Teresa) of Wilkesboro; mother-in-law, Letsie Whitaker of High Point; sister-in-law, Kathy Bare of Traphill; brother-in-law, Jack Bare of Wilkesboro; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial service celebrating Carl's life will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, January 30, 2021 in the Chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale with Scott Griffin officiating.

The family will speak with friends from 1:00 to 1:45 PM Saturday at the funeral home prior to the service.
