Carol Ann McDowell Goodmon, 66, formerly of Thomasville was called home to be with her Lord, April 17, 2018.
Carol was born in High Point to the late John Wade McDowell and Alma Jones McDowell. In addition to her parents Carol was preceded in death by brother; Bob McDowell and sister; Brenda McDowell Gilchrist.
Carol in her earlier years use to enjoy cross-stitch. She loved getting together with friends, laughing and having a good time. Carol loved listening to Elvis music and watching Elvis movies. Years ago she spent most every Sunday afternoon visiting with her mother. When her son, Josh was born it was the highlight of her life, she loved and cared for him deeply.
She worked for Guilford County in various departments from the age of 19 until her retirement in 2004.
Carol is survived by her son; Joshua Wade Goodmon of Thomasville and her four nephews that she loved and claimed as her own; Bobby McDowell, J.J. McDowell, Tim Gilchrist and Michael Gilchrist.
A memorial service to honor Carol’s life will be 2:00 pm on Sunday, April 22, 2018 in the Chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service, 105 Eastchester Drive in High Point. The Rev. Barry Hill will officiate.
The family will receive friends 1:00 until 1:45 pm on Sunday prior to the service.
