Mrs. Carolyn Slate Alcon, 79, resident of High Point, died May 11, 2021 at High Point Medical Center.
She was born October 11, 1941 in Guilford County, a daughter to Cecil J. and Ruby Gordon Slate. As a resident of this area all her life, she had worked in hosiery manufacturing at Daisy Mills and was a member of W. Fairfield Baptist Church (formerly Oak Grove). In 1964, she married Bobby Alcon who survives of the residence. She was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Slate; and a sister, Pernie Harvell.
In addition to her husband, surviving are three children, Donna Price and husband Ken of Trinity, Tim Alcon of Winston-Salem, and Gail Alcon of Thomasville; and two grandchildren, Dustin and Emilee Alcon. She was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother to her husband, children, and grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 15, at Abbott’s Creek Missionary Baptist Church in High Point. The interment will follow the service in the church cemetery. Visitation will be prior to the service from 12:45 – 1:45 p.m. on Saturday at the church. Carolyn had a love of flowers and they are gladly accepted for the service!
