Carolyn (Spencer) Dillon

Mrs. Carolyn Spencer Dillon, 81, resident of Archdale, died October 12, 2017 at Hospice Home at High Point.

Carolyn was born August 2, 1936 in Randolph County, a daughter to the late Homer S. and Anne Delk Spencer.  A resident of this area all her life, she was a 1954 graduate of Trinity High School and a long time employee of Patrician Furniture Company.  She was a birth right member of Archdale Friends Meeting and the John Archdale Sunday School Class.  During her time at the meeting she served in many roles, including, care ministry member, choir member and Sunday school teacher.  She also was a former member of the Pride and Patience Garden Club and the Golden Arch Chapter of American Business Women’s Association where she was Woman of the Year in 1985.  On October 23, 1954 she married Gordon F. Dillon who preceded her in death on June 15, 2009.

Surviving is her son, Keith P. Dillon and wife Jandra of Thomasville; her daughter, Carol Ann Robles of Trinity; her "adopted" son, Harold Walls of Greensboro; two brothers, H.S. Spencer Jr. and wife Danese of Trinity and Cletus D. Spencer and wife Barbara of Trinity; and five grandchildren, Janison Anne Dillon of Wilmington, N.C., Jonathan Keith Dillon of Mt. Pleasant, S.C., Brandon Lowery Robles of Kernersville, N.C., Brittany Ann Robles Moose and husband Caleb of Colorado Springs, C.O. and Bryan Joseph Robles of Boone, N.C.

Funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday at Archdale Friends Meeting with Pastor Rusty Parsons, Pastor Scott Wagoner and Pastor Ben Hurley officiating.  Interment will follow the service at Floral Garden Park Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Saturday at the Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale and other times at her home, 311 Ralph Dr. Archdale, N.C., 27263.  Memorials may be directed to Hospice of The Piedmont, 1801 Westchester Dr. High Point, N.C., 27262 or to the Endowment Fund at Archdale Friends Meeting, 114 Trindale Rd. Archdale, N.C., 27263.  Special thanks is extended to the doctors, nurses and staff at Hospice Home at High Point and High Point Regional Hospital for the loving care given to Carolyn.
