Carolyn Penny (Andrews) Bundy

High Point—Carolyn Penny Andrews Bundy passed away at her home October 03, 2019. She was born February 08, 1932 the only child of Pauline Trexler Andrews and John Fredrick (J. Fred) Andrews. Her father established his business the same year she was born and named it Carolyn Fabrics.

Carolyn attended first grade in The Little Red School House and graduated from High Point School in 1950. Her senior honors included The National Register, Senior Superlative, and The National Honor Society. She was voted Best Dressed by her peer. She was editor of The Pointer and was a fabulous majorette.

After completing studies in retailing and interior design at Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri, Carolyn continued her education at the New York School of Interior Design.

Carolyn had exciting careers in retailing, interior design and modeling. She co-owned her own dress shop in Naples, Florida. She designed home and store interiors, and furnished three Hatteras Yachts for King Hussein of Jordan. Her understanding and use of color was outstanding. Being very photogenic, she was also a successful model.

Carolyn was a charter member of Forest Hills Presbyterian Church and was a Junior League of High Point Sustainer.

Carolyn Bundy is survived by her husband, Robert Mayne Bundy, High Point; Son Stephen Andrews Spillers (Jeanne), daughter Sandra Spillers Floyd all of High Point. She is also survived by a grandson, William Johnston Spillers, II, Chapel Hill, NC and granddaughters Sidney Burroughs Tillman of Pauley’s Island, SC, Mary Stanley Burroughs Manuel of Murrells Inlet, SC as well as two great grandchildren, Anne Caroline Tillman and Connor Tillman. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her grandson Dustin Andrews Spillers

A funeral Service will be conducted 2:00 pm Monday October 07, 2019 at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church Chapel. Interment will follow in Oakwood Memorial Park.
