ARCHDALE – Charles Hurley Gallimore, 86, died Thursday, May 28, 2020, at Hospice Home of High Point.
He was born October 22, 1933, in Randolph County and was the son of the late Charlie Lee and Nina Nance Gallimore. Charles grew up in the Hog Eye community around Thomasville where he was known as “Snake” and enjoyed playing with his cousins Herman Dunning and Dalton Kennedy from sun up to sun down. He retired from the United States Air Force and Clover Leaf Super Markets. Charles wanted to thank the men and women serving the armed services and the police and firefighters who serve our community. His heroes were those men and women who gave their lives serving our great country.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Louise Gallimore; sister, Anne Speas; and two brothers, Clarence and Lloyd Gallimore.
Charles is survived by his children, Michael Gallimore of Archdale and Debra Willard of High Point; sister, Evelyn Edwards of Chesterfield, Virginia.
Graveside service celebrating Charles’ life will be held 12:00 pm Monday at Floral Garden Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will speak with friends following the service at the cemetery.
Charles wanted to thank the Ney family, Don, Stella, Delores and Timmy, for all they did for him.
