Charles “Charlie” Halford, 88, of High Point passed away peacefully on Monday, November 5, 2018 at Hospice Home at High Point.
Charlie was born August 3, 1930 in Rutherford County, North Carolina to the late Albert H. Halford and Mary Lou Frady Halford.
He lived a full and exciting life, having served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was owner W & H Motors. He also enjoyed flying private airplanes, riding motorcycles and working on cars.
Those who will cherish Charlie’s memories are his wife, Eva Castejon Halford; children, Diane Halford Barden (Tom) of Pelzer, SC, Ken Halford (Susan) of Willow Park, TX; Siblings, Meredith Horner, Columbia SC, Lois Seagle of Plano TX, Escar Halford (Nita) of Morganton, NC; grandchildren, Jared Barden, Tyler Halford, Rachel Mantooth, Christian Halford and great-grandchildren, Ellis Barden, Landen Mantooth, Samuel Halford, Wyatt Barden, Townes Halford, Logan Mantooth and Milo Halford.
A military memorial service will be held at the National Veterans Cemetery in Salisbury at 2:00pm on Thursday, November 8, 2018.
