Mr. Charles Darrell Willett, 80, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 8, 2019 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.
Charles was born July 3, 1939 in Guilford County, a son to the late James R. and Kathryn Spoone Willett. As a resident of this area most of his life, he was a member of North Pointe Church and worked as a residental realtor. He was a member of the High Point Realtor’s Association where he served as president in 2001 and was inducted into the High Point Realtor’s Hall of Fame in 2008. Prior to his work in real estate, he was owner and operator of Willett Auto Parts in High Point. He also was active with the House of Prayer where he ministered for over 25 years and was a veteran of the U.S. Army Reserves. In 1961, he married the love of his life, Toni Jane DeMarvo, who survives of the residence.
Also surviving is their son, Michael Willett and wife Stephanie of Wilmington; a daughter, Amy Jordan and husband William of High Point; and six grandchildren, Stephen Willett and wife Ashlee, Nathan Willett, Sarah Elizabeth Jordan, Matthew Jordan, Sydney James and Kole James. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Shepard.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at North Pointe Church with Pastor Darrell Greene officiating. Interment will follow at Floral Garden Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Cumby Family Funeral Service in High Point. Memorials may be directed to North Pointe Church, 5225 High Point Rd.
