Mr. Charles Edward Jones, 54, of Archdale, passed away Monday, April 2, 2018, at his residence.
Born February 27, 1964, in Thomasville, Ed was the son of Charles Franklin and Reba Gail Leonard (Jones) Shuller. He was preceded in death by his father, step-father, Paul Shuller, and a grandchild, Baby McGrath. Ed was a paramedic and worked with Emergency Medical Services in Davidson, Rowan, New Hanover, and Hyde Counties, and had recently retired from Chocowinity EMS. He had taught CPR classes at Davidson County Community College, was known as “DJ Special Ed” of Quick Response Mobile DJ, as “Tasty McCrunch” by his ladies at Carolinas Diner. He sang and danced into his appointments at High Point Kidney Center. Ed enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing Barbies with is granddaughters, singing, making people laugh, mentoring new medics, and sharing the Gospel.
Ed is survived by his wife, Susan Speight McGrath Jones; his mother, Reba Shuller; five sons, Steven McGrath, Cody McGrath and wife, Megan Elizabeth, Zane McGrath and wife, Shelby, Austin Matthews, and Adam Jones and wife, Jessica; two daughters, Megan Nichol McGrath and Hannah Jones; five grandchildren, Kaylee McGrath, Melody McGrath, Ian McGrath, Gavin Jones and Asher Jones; a brother, Steven Jones and wife, Amy; and a sister, Debbie Shuler and husband, Rick.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held by the family at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, at the New Heart Baptist Church, 605 Carolina Ave., in Thomasville, officiated by Rev. Kenny Coker.
