Charlotte Spaugh Adcock

DENTON-Charlotte Spaugh Adcock, age 95, went to be with her Lord on July 10, 2018.  She had been a resident of Mountain Vista Health Park in Denton, NC for the past four years.

Charlotte was born in High Point, NC on May 15, 1923 to Edna and Levi Spaugh.  She was a 1941 graduate of Allen Jay High School and served two years in the United States Navy as a WAVE during World War II.  There she met her husband, Joe Adcock, to whom she was married for fifty-nine years, until his death in 1999. Charlotte was a devoted member of Westchester Baptist Church, where she taught the children’s Sunday School Class for more than twenty years.  In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Arnold and Andrew “Buck”, and sister, Naedzu.

Charlotte was a loving mother to her two daughters, Edna Roberts and Lorie Reams (Ken); her sister, Margaret Surmons. She had five grandchildren, Chris Styles (Jaime), Travis Reams (Kelli), Jason Roberts (Beth), Jake Reams (Courtney) and Mellie Roberts.  She had eleven great-grandchildren, a special nephew, Lindsay Spaugh (Ann), along with many nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.

A service of remembrance will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, July 13, 2018, in the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale, with Reverend Dr. Eric Peacock officiating.  Burial will follow at Floral Garden Memorial Park Cemetery. Her family will receive friends from 11:45 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. Friday prior to the service.

Charlotte’s family would like to say a special ‘thank you’ to the staff at Mountain Vista Health Park for the wonderful care and love shown to her over the past four years.
