Christine Ruth (Selby) Causey

Christine “Chris” S. Causey of High Point entered the Kingdom of Heaven on July 2, 2018, at the age of 93.  She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.  She is survived by daughters Sandy Weiss, Karen McDonald, Teresa Weaver (Terry) and son Bill Causey, Jr. (Christina Edwards, fiancé), 9 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

She was born December 23, 1924 in Engelhard, NC. In 1945 she married Bill Causey, Sr., her loving husband of 68 years, who preceded her in death in 2014.  She is also preceded in death by her parents, Claude “Bud” Selby and Alma Gibbs Selby, her brother JD Selby and sister Aldeen Selby.

Christine moved to High Point in 1945 after marrying Bill, where she lived her entire adult life.  She devoted her life to raising their 4 children.  She kept a spotless house, cooked countless meals for her family, was an immaculate flower gardener, attended church faithfully and was a shining example of what a mother and wife should be.  She had a tender heart, especially for children.

A celebration of Christine’s life will be held on Thursday, July 5, 2018, with visitation at 12:30pm followed by a funeral service at 2:00pm. Both will be held at Cumby Family Funeral Service, 1015 Eastchester Drive in High Point, with Pastors Dean Triolkas and Dan Hipply officiating.  Burial will follow at Guilford Memorial Park.
