Christine Dix Hiatt

THOMASVILLE, Christine Dix Hiatt, 90, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, on Saturday, September 16, 2017.

She was born on October 22, 1926 in High Point, to the late Tony and Mary Baisey Dix. A resident of this area all of her life, she worked for Adams Millis and retired after many years of service. Christine was a 50 year member of Green Street Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Maynard Buerge Sunday School Class. Her true love and passion in life were her children; her grandchildren, her great grandchildren and her great- great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, preceding her in death were her husband, William E. Hiatt; her brothers, Paul and David Dix and her sisters, Earlene Smith and Sally Johnson.

She leaves to cherish her memory; her daughters, Barbara King and her husband Ernest, Judy Bell and her husband Jerry; her grandchildren, Darrin McDowell and his wife BJ, Chad McDowell and his wife Angela, Meredith McDowell and Kimberly Cooke; her great grandchildren, Brad McDowell, Lauren McDowell, Megan McDowell, Brendan McDowell, Keegan McDowell, Whitney Welborn, and Kylie Welborn; her great great grandchildren, Grace Dunn, and in the very near future, Brady Hardy.

A service to celebrate Christine’s life will be held on Monday, September 18, at 2 pm, in the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale, with Reverend Frank Hensley officiating. Entombment will follow in Floral Garden Memorial Park Mausoleum. Her family will receive friends on Monday from 12:45 until 1:45 pm at the funeral home, and other times will be at the home of her daughter, Barbara King.
