HIGH POINT-Clarence Edward Moore, 89, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, August 14, 2019.
He was born on January 11, 1930 in Jackson County, NC to the late Jess and Bessie Barnes Moore. He served his country with the US Army in the Korean War, and worked at Drexal Heritage Furniture, retiring after 25 years of service. He was an active member of New Heights Baptist Church and was serving as a Senior Deacon. Clarence enjoyed the outdoors; especially working in his garden, mowing, and taking care of his yard. His true love and passion was spending time at church and being with his family. In addition to his parents, preceding him in death were his wife, Ethel Williams Moore; a son, Michael Moore; a granddaughter, Samantha Ingram; 3 brothers, Glenn Moore, Jimmy Moore and Clyde Moore, and his sister, Marthlene Herrin.
He is survived by his children, William Moore, Mary Grant (Ricky), Brenda Ingram (Richard), and June Moore; his brothers, Alvin Moore, Jack Moore (Annie), and Albert Moore (Shirley), 7 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 3 great- great grandchildren, 1 step grandson and 2 step great grandchildren.
A service to celebrate Clarence’s life will be held on Monday Morning, August 19, at 11 o’clock, at New Heights Baptist Church, with Pastor Roger Porter and Pastor Roger Carmichael officiating. Interment will follow in Floral Garden Memorial Park Cemetery, with Military Honors accorded by the Randolph County Honor Guard. His family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon, August 18, from 3 until 5 o’clock, at Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale and other times will be at the residence.
