Claude Adams Bowers

Mr. Claude Adams Bowers, 89, resident of High Point, died July 10, 2017 at High Point Regional Hospital.

Mr. Bowers was born October 11, 1927 in Randolph County, a son to the late Cicero and Malta Adams Bowers.  As a resident of this area all his life, he attended Brentwood Baptist Church and worked 40 years in the furniture industry.  He also was a veteran of the U.S. Army.  His wife, the former Alice Travis, preceded him in death in 2009.  In addition to his wife and parents, he was also preceded in death by six siblings.

Surviving is his son, Mark Bowers of High Point; two brothers, Charles Bowers of Archdale and Darrell Bowers of Trinity; and three sisters, Rosa Morgan of Randolph County, Shirley Edwards of Archdale and Ruth DeBusk of Winston-Salem.

A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Floral Garden Park Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Cumby Family Funeral Service in High Point.
