Colin Waldroup

TRINITY- Colin Waldroup, 74, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 19, 2021.

He was born on January 6, 1947 in Bryson City, NC, a son of the late Harold and Etta Mae Mashburn Waldroup. He grew up in Bryson City, until he turned 18 and then he moved to High Point. He retired from the City of High Point and owned Waldroup Mowing. He was a longtime member of Landmark Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon and took care of the gardening at the church.  Colin was a hunter and enjoyed coon hunting, deer hunting, watching nature and wildlife. He loved his Lord, his family and his friends and will be dearly missed. In addition to his parents, preceding him in death was a sister, Kathy Waldroup.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 55 years, Patsy Ward, Waldroup; his sons, Colin Waldroup, Larry Waldroup and his wife, Erin and Steven Waldroup and his wife Julie; his brothers, Nathan Waldroup and his wife Gladys, Keith Waldroup and his wife, Darlene, Mike Waldroup and his wife, Sin-Ja; his sisters, Joyce Gibson and her husband, Benny, Marcia Waldroup, Barbara Davis and her husband, Wayne, Kay McKinney and her husband, Ronnie. Also surviving are a 11 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and one on the way.

A service to celebrate Colin’s life will be held on Wednesday morning, June 23, at 11:00 a.m., from Landmark Baptist Church, with Preacher Ronnie McKinney, Pastor Amos Mashburn and Pastor Jerry Whitehart, officiating. The committal service will follow in the church cemetery. His family will receive friends on Tuesday night, June 22, from 6 until 8 p.m., at the church.
