Conrad Wade

Conrad Devereaux Wade, II, 63, of Summerfield, quietly closed his eyes here and opened them to see the face of Jesus on Tuesday, May 24, 2022.  Conrad was born on January 11, 1959, the son of Conrad Devereaux Wade and Margie Bullard Wade, both of whom preceded him in death.  Also waiting to welcome him home was his brother-in-law John Capps and his beloved niece Jennifer Capps. 

Those left to remember and cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 32 years, Teri Wade, his son and namesake Conrad Devereaux Wade, III (Becky), his daughter Sarah Vogan (Cody), and the tiniest loves of his life, his granddaughters, Gwyneth, Allison, Evelyn, Violet, and Eleanor Maya.  He is also survived by the ones who joined the world with him, his sisters Rita, Sheryl (Ed), Linda (David), and his nieces and nephews who grew up riding on his shoulders and often preferring his company to anyone else’s. 

Conrad’s heart belonged to Jesus and he loved the Lord with all he had.  That’s also how he lived his life.  He was all in and when he succeeded, he celebrated.  When he didn’t, he’d dust himself off and try it again.  He had a mind that was sharp and quick-witted, and a heart that was loving and eager to help any who needed it.  He had a talent for many things and an uncanny ability to just get it done.  Some things he just knew, others he learned, and those things that most of us thought impossible, he would just figure out.  The frustrated words of many when everything else had failed were “Just call Con.”  Oh how we wish we could.  

A memorial service and reception to celebrate his life will be held on Friday, May 27, 2022 at 1:00 pm at Gate City Vineyard in Greensboro, NC.
