Constance "Connie" (Mayer) Boyers

Constance Mayer Boyers formerly of New York and West Palm Beach passed away on Wednesday May 9, 2018.  She was born September 24, 1938 in St. Paul, MN and was the daughter of the late William and Lorraine Mayer.  Connie spent most of her life teaching primarily at The Dalton School in Manhattan, NY.  Even after retiring her love of children and teaching compelled her to continue her passion by tutoring and teaching in West Palm Beach, FL.  In West Palm Beach she also became a Guardian Ad Litem, and continued to aid children that needed her desperately.

She married the love of her life Allan Boyers in 1970. The two of them travelled extensively, played golf and tennis and spent many days visiting with all of their families.  She loved her family so much.  She touched so many lives and brought so much joy to anyone that knew her.  During retirement, Connie convinced her husband to get the second love of her life, her beloved Shih Tzu, Makasi.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband Allan, her brother William Mayer, her nephew Paul Olander and her precious Makasi.

She is survived by her three sisters, Claire Olander (Donald) of Boone, NC; Janet Dolan (Daniel) of Woodbury, MN; Mary Pat LaBoda of Stillwater, MN; a step-daughter Rand Peppas (Gary) of Middletown, NJ; a step-son Brian Boyers (Lara) of Ramseur, NC; a daughter-in-law Patricia Preimats (Peter) of High Point, NC; 5 grandchildren, Philip Boyers, Eric Boyers, James Boyers, Thomas Boyers and Gianna Peppas; 9 nieces and nephews, Rachel Olander, Adam Olander, Steven LaBoda, Erin Laboda, Bailey Laboda, Colleen Dolan, Michael Dolan, Daniel Dolan and Kelly Jacobson.

We would like to thank her special friend and caretaker Geraldine Dedolchow and dedicated friends Helen and Sid Rose for their constant outpouring of love that they shared with Constance.

A prayer service will be held on Monday May 14, 2018 at 11:00 am at Chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service, Eastchester Drive, High Point, NC.  There will be a gathering of family and friends immediately following the service at the home of Peter and Pat Preimats.
