Daisy (Wall) Barnes

Mrs. Daisy Wall Barnes, 82, of High Point, passed away Monday, December 4, 2017 at the Hospice Home at High Point with her three daughters and her niece, Jane Kennedy, by her side.

Born February 4, 1935, in High Point, Daisy was the daughter of the late Jack and Lottie Hankins Wall. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Barnes, and a grandson, Blake Bishop. Daisy was a resident of High Point her whole life, was of the Baptist faith, and retired from Silver Knit Hosiery Mill after 35 years of service. She was a wonderful caregiver to anyone who needed her, and loved doing for others. She also loved doing word searches, playing Canasta, and listening to George Jones.

Daisy is survived by three daughters, Debbie Kanoy and husband, Ricky, of Archdale, Kim Lackey and husband, David, of Trinity, and Ann Reece and husband, David, of High Point; four grandchildren, Dana Kanoy, Jamie Kanoy, Tyler Bishop, and Jacob Bishop; and three great grandchildren, Addy Kanoy, Kinsley Kanoy and Paitan Ball. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, with whom she lived with and took care of for a number of years, Helen Hankins.

Memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, in the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale, officiated by Rev. Mark Talbert. Inurnment will follow in Floral Garden Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday night from 6 until 8 at the funeral home.
