Dallas Royce Barker

Master Dallas Royce Barker, age 4, resident of Asheboro, died September 24, 2022 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem.

He was born November 8, 2017 in Forsyth County, a son to Bradley Barker and Amanda Smith.  Dallas was attending Pre-k for a short time and he loved every minute with his new friends and his teacher.  He was a sweet and gentle soul, always trying to make everyone happy or laugh.  Dallas had the best hugs and the warmest smile.  He could make any problem float away with just one hug.  He loved riding his four wheeler, visiting the beach and building sandcastles (which he did in mid August), jumping over the ocean waves, swimming in the pool, and especially, any and everything related to his hero, Super Mario.  Dallas also enjoyed playing with his siblings and his cousins, who he always referred to as "his kids."

Surviving are his parents, Bradley Barker and Amanda Smith, both of Asheboro; sister, Layla Hagar; brother, Blake Barker; maternal grandparents, William Smith of Archdale and Rose Smith of Trinity; paternal grandparents, Karen Jacobs and Steve Kennedy of Asheboro; great-grandparents, Steve and Roseanne Steed; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 7, in the chapel of the Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale with Pastor Bryan Rush officiating.  The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30-2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  Interment will follow the service at Mt. Gilead United Methodist Church Cemetery in Trinity.
