FRANKLINVILLE- Darrell Ray Hughes II, 41, passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2019.
He was born on May 8, 1978 in High Point, to Darrell and Kay Small Hughes. A resident of this area all his life, he worked as building contractor. Darrell was an avid outdoorsmen and he loved fast cars. His true love and passion was time spent with his family; especially his granddaughter, Allison. He was a loving fiancé, son, father, brother, grandfather, and friend, and will be dearly missed. He was preceded in death by his father, Darrell Ray Hughes, Sr.; his paternal grandmother, Thelma Hughes, and his maternal grandmother, Geneva Small.
He leaves to cherish his memory; his fiancé, Nicole Orr; his children, Taylor Hughes (Jamie Allen), Anna Gonzales, and Brittany Robinson; his mother, Kay Small Hughes; his brothers, Aaron Hughes, Jerry Small, and Charles Norman; his sister, Bonnie Blanton (John); his grandchildren, Allison Hughes, Ryleigh Hughes, Clementine and Townes Robinson.
A service to celebrate Darrell’s life will be held on Thursday morning, May 16, at 11 o’clock, in the Chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale, with Pastor Junior Dawkins officiating. Interment will follow in Floral Garden Memorial Park Cemetery. His family will receive friends on Wednesday evening, May 15, from 6 until 8, at the funeral home.
