Darryl Keith Beckerleg

Darryl Keith Beckerleg, 47, died peacefully in his home on Friday, July 27, 2018 enveloped in love and surrounded by his family. 

Darryl was born in Framingham, Massachusetts to Richard and Janice Beckerleg.  Growing up in Boxford, MA Darryl was an active part of his church youth group where lifelong friendships were formed and his faith in Jesus Christ was nurtured.  With friends and family, he enjoyed playing soccer and basketball, riding motorbikes, snow skiing, water skiing and sailing. Just prior to his eighteenth birthday, Darryl was privileged to earn his Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America. Darryl graduated from Masconomet High School in 1989 and received his undergraduate degree in Information Technology from Syracuse University.  Darryl’s faith continued to be nurtured by loving and faithful friends at Syracuse University with whom his relationships lasted throughout his life.   Always working in IT, Darryl was most recently employed by SAP North America as a Financial Services Software Project Manager. 

In a previous marriage, Darryl was privileged to become a father to his beautiful children, Lindsay and Ben.  In the spring of 2016, Darryl married Michelle Foster. Darryl quickly became active at Covenant Church United Methodist where he was an active part of the Yada Yada Small Group, found joy in participating in Monday evening basketball, and loved serving as a greeter on Sunday mornings for as long as his health would allow.  Being diagnosed with brain cancer in 2017, Darryl found even more resolve to invest himself in meaningful relationships, share his faith more openly, and create eternal memories with his friends and family.  

Left to celebrate Darryl’s legacy and treasure his memory are his wife, Michelle Foster-Beckerleg; his children, Lindsay Beckerleg and Ben Beckerleg; step-sons Michael Foster and Pearson Foster; his parents, Richard and Janice Beckerleg; his brother, Craig Beckerleg; and many extended family members and friends.  

A service to celebrate Darryl’s life will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 4th at Covenant Church United Methodist in High Point, NC.  Interment will immediately follow the service at Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery.  Visitation will be prior to the service from 12:30-2:00 p.m. at the church.
