TRINITY – David Lynn Herring, 71, died Monday, June 21, 2021 at his residence.
He was born April 12, 1950 in High Point and was the son of the late McKethan and Billie Jane Barlow Herring. He was a truck driver with Old Dominion Freightliner for many years and a member of Trinity Baptist Church. David was a devoted family man whose greatest joy was being a husband, Dad and Pawpaw. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles, building and flying drones, working in his yard and traveling. David had an outgoing personality and never met a stranger.
In addition to his parents, on August 7, 2013 he was preceded in death by his wife, Teresa Jill Herring, whom he married on February 25, 1978.
David is survived by his children, April H. Grant (Travis) of Archdale, Rusty Herring (Tammy) of Trinity and Christy Murrell of Fayetteville; five grandchildren, Brook Herring, Tess Herring, Katie Herring, Joshua Herring and Jayden Herring; four sisters, Jane Brown (Bill) of Winston-Salem, Jean Hudson (Wayne) of Oxford, Sally Bradley (Ricky) of Thomasville and Joy McCall (Steve) of High Point; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial service celebrating David’s life will be held 6:00 PM Wednesday, June 30, 2021 in the Chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale with Mr. Bryan Culbreth officiating. The family will speak with friends immediately following the service.
