David Patterson “Pat” Hines, 93 of Archdale died following a brief illness on Friday January 8, 2021 at Wake Forest Baptist-High Point Medical Center. He was born in Guilford County on September 1, 1927 a son of the late Carl P. and Ida Culler Hines. Pat was one of nine sibling. He is a veteran of the US Army, having served in Korea. Upon his discharge Pat relocated to High Point where he married Pauline Warren in 1951 and they moved to what is now Archdale. In August they celebrated their 69th anniversary.
Pat was a supportive father and friend with his unfailing attentiveness, and wonderful sense of humor. He was a faithful member of Allen Jay Baptist Church (now New Life) for 60+ years, serving as a Deacon, and as Chair, Trustee and other leadership roles. In addition to his parents, Pat was preceded in death by his sibling; sisters Ted Mobley (Marvin), Effie Payne (Nolan), Mary Clark (Stafford), Thelma Smith (Jack), Blanche Falkenberry (Joe), and brothers; Bud (Neta), Pete (Mary), and Bill (Joan) all of High Point.
In addition to his wife Pauline, he is survived by his sons Rick (Betsy) and Dwayne (Kathy); two grandchildren, Ryan Hines and Julie Dagenhardt (Tyler) and three great grandchildren; J.P., Allison and Ethan Dagenhardt and a step sister Ann Brendle (Bob).
Due to Covid-19 concerns funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials be given to First Baptist Church of High Point, 405 N.
