David Craig Mickey, age 65, husband of Candace Mickey, passed away on December 26, 2021. Born in High Point NC, he was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Henry Mickey. In addition to his wife of 16 years, he is survived by 3 daughters, Leah Mickey, Kendra Mickey and Skye Owings, and 1 granddaughter Kinley Grady as well as siblings Johnny Mickey (Patricia Idol Mickey), Jane Mickey Rominger, Mary Jo Tucker, Lori Mickey.
David was taken too soon from his loving wife Candace, who would melt when he sang Frank Sinatra while always impressing her on the dance floor.
David adored his family and would do anything for them. Growing up, his siblings called him The Golden Boy, which was a true testament to his character. He was blessed with 3 daughters and 1 granddaughter, all of which he loved deeply and unconditionally and was immensely proud of.
David loved his childhood, growing up in the church along with vacation Bible School with friends. He spoke of these memories a great deal at the end of his life and he cherished these relationships and memories.
David loved sports, playing baseball throughout school but making a career with his natural talent in golf. He was a golf pro in his 20's, and eventually found a long term career in Sales due to his charismatic and kind presence.
As the owner of Suite Sleep Inc., a sleep product company, he achieved many of his dreams.
A Funeral service will be held on Saturday,January 29, 2021 at 12:00pm at Cumby Family Funeral Service, 1015 Eastchester Drive, High Point NC 27262.
