David Grant Thomas

THOMASVILLE-David Grant Thomas, 64, passed away on Monday, January 17, 2022.

He was born on August 22, 1957 in Augusta County, VA, a son of the late Arnold Thomas and Doris Huntley. He was a 1975 graduate of Robert E. Lee High School in Staunton, VA and had worked for REO Distribution as a Warehouse Manager. He moved to Thomasville, NC seven years ago to be near his daughter and granddaughter. David’s passions in life were his family, fishing, hunting and all sports. He will be remembered as a loving father, brother and grandfather and will be dearly missed. In addition to his parents, preceding him in death were a brother, Dwight Thomas and a nephew, Jacob Simmons.

He is survived by his daughter Ashley Thomas and her husband, Ryan Chaland of Thomasville; his sisters, Jennifer Wolfe and her husband, Johnny of Churchville, VA and Julie Thomas of Staunton, VA; and his brothers Rodney Thomas and his wife Linda of Michigan and Rob Thomas of Orange, Va. He is also survived by his granddaughter, Josephine Chaland.

A service to celebrate David’s life will be held at a later date.
