On Saturday, May 12, 2018, Sara Irene(Peterson)Harper joined the heavenly host to be with her Lord.
Parents, Earl and Sarah Peterson, welcomed Sara into the world on February 28, 1951; and she went on to graduate from Brownsville Area High School in 1969. Sara was an entrepreneur, owner and operator of Treasured Memories I, II and III, Pittsburgh, PA.
Sara’s knowledge and experience provided an opportunity to expand her wings. Her vision was instrumental in her becoming founder and executive director of KinGap Services of North Carolina. The KinGap Services of NC provide assistance to grandparents raising grandchildren. Sara was an advocate for women and children all her adult life. Her devotion was evident by her dedication to non-profit organizations.
Sara was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Regina (Hunt) Hollaman; five sisters (Claudette, Katey, Hope, Maureen and Ann); and one brother (Earl).
She is survived by her husband, Curtis Harper Sr.; children of the home, Shawnetta, Dy’Naya, and Ky’Laya; sons, Eric Jr. (April) and Shawne of TN; Pierre, Bryant Sr., Curtis Jr. and daughter Christine of PA. Her sisters Rose (Robert) Thompson of NC, Leola Bryant of PA, Darlene (Harry) Ervin of FL, and Lucinda Evans of CO. Her brothers Frank (Vickie) Peterson, and William (Marcie) Peterson of PA. Thirteen grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and special friends to mourn her loss.
