Debra "Cookie" Watson

Mrs. Debra Lynn Porter Watson (aka Cookie), 58, resident of High Point, died April 24, 2021 at her home.

She was born May 28, 1962 in Guilford County, a daughter to Danny L. and Elsie Morgan Porter.  She was a resident of this area all her life and was of the Baptist faith.  Preceding her in death were her husband, Millard Edgar Watson in 2001; her daughter, Christy Michelle Cook in 2014; and her father, Danny Lawrence Porter.

Surviving is her mother of High Point; a daughter, Kim Watson of High Point; a brother, Danny Porter of Archdale; five grandchildren, Lacey Soles, Aaron Beck Jr., Michael Murray, Nick Lewis, and Dillon Lewis; her best friend, Jean Hazel of High Point; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday in the chapel of the Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale with Pastor Richard Blevins officiating.  The interment will follow at Floral Garden Park Cemetery in High Point.  The family will receive friends from 12:45 – 1:45 p.m. on Thursday prior to the service at the funeral home.  Memorials may be directed to Straightway Baptist Church at 1125 Hickory Chapel Rd. High Point, NC, 27260.
