ARCHDALE – Delmer Jack Allred, 84, died Tuesday, December 11, 2018, at Shannon Gray Rehabilitation Center.
He was born November 10, 1934, in High Point and was the son of the late Charlie and Estella Wrenn Allred. He was a retired carpenter and had retired from Scarboro Construction Company. Delmer enjoyed doing woodworking in his workshop behind his house.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Delmer Jack “Jackie” Allred, Jr., an infant son, Mikey Dean Allred, and seven brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Betty White Allred whom he married on March 3, 1953; two daughters, Cindy Dills (Branson) and Charline Auman (Joey); son, Bobby Joe Allred (Ronda), all of Archdale; seven grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service celebrating Delmer’s life will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, December 15, 2018, in the Chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale with the Rev. Jeff Morgan officiating. Burial will follow at Floral Garden Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 12:45 to 1:45 PM Saturday at the funeral home prior to the service.
