Derrick Lance Powers

TRINITY – Derrick Lance Powers, 33, died Monday, February 3, 2020, at his residence.

He was born August 26, 1986, in High Point and was the son of Ronnie Powers and Michelle Powers. Derrick loved music and playing the guitar, but his greatest joy was his family.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, May Smith.

Derrick is survived by his mother, Michelle Powers; father, Ronnie Powers (fiancée, Angie Williams); sister, Nyah Celene Powers; paternal grandparents, Woodrow Powers (Rhonda) and Dorothy Mae Powers, all of Trinity; aunts, Jeaninne Russell (Jerry) of Whitsett and Donna Haney (Benji) of Asheboro; uncles, Larry Burke (Carol) of Asheville and Rick Powers (Cindy) of Geensboro; cousins, Chandler Powers, Jacob Russell, Trey Haney, Jessica Haney, Daniel Haney, Emily Burke, Christian Burke and Gabriel Burke; and his dog, Nala.

There will be a gathering of family and friends from 2:00-4:00 PM Sunday at Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale.
