Dewey Franklin Linville

Dewey Franklin Linville, 95, passed peacefully at his residence on Tuesday, February 6, 2018.

Dewey was born July 27, 1922 in Belews Creeks to the late Wilson Dewey Linville and Cora Mitchell Linville.  He was also preceded in death by his wife; Hazel Gordon Linville, brothers and sisters; Dorothy Wilson, Jewel Bowman, Audrey Larrimore, Glenn Linville, Billy Ray Linville and Birthy Linville.

As a member of Abbott’s Creek Missionary Baptist Church, Dewey had perfect Sunday School attendance for 51 years. He also worked at Lyles Chevrolet in High Point for 56 years. 

Those who will cherish Dewey’s memories are his children; Anita L. Grant and husband, Leroy of High Point, Larry F. Linville and wife, Lora of Walkertown, brothers and sisters; Patricia Brim of Belews Creek, Janet Gauldin of Belews Creek, Bobby Linville of Hayes, Mac Linville of Rural Hall, Jerry Linville of Belews Creek, grandchildren; Neal Linville, Richard Linville and wife, Bridget, Samantha Blomer, Jeremy Linville and wife, Sarah, Jason Charlton and wife, Amber, great-grandchildren; Emma Halker, Hannah Halker, Joshua Judge, Zoe Linville, Richie Linville, Nehemiah Linville, Naomi Linville, Kayden Charlton, Elise Charlton and Hazel Blomer.

A funeral service to honor Dewey’s life will be 2:00pm on Sunday, February 11, 2018 at Abbotts Creek Missionary Baptist Church, 2817 Abbotts Creek Church Road in High Point with the Reverends Mark Hollar and Jeremy Linville.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends 6:00 until 8:00pm on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Cumby Family Funeral Service 1015 Eastchester Drive in High Point.

The family request any memorial contributions be made to any Hospice Organization of the donors choice.
