Dolly L. Andrews

Lexington - With profound sadness, the family of Dolly Andrews announces the passing of their loving and devoted mother, sister, grandmother and friend on May 11, 2019.

Dolly was 70 years young…

Born in High Point, North Carolina on November 12, 1948, to the late Clyde and Alice Grayson Andrews, Dolly was by profession a Registered Nurse at the Veteran’s Hospital in Salisbury, North Carolina.

When not demonstrating her passion of caring for patients, Dolly was an avid reader and enjoyed loving on her dogs, her most recent one, Reece. “Granny Dolly”, as she was affectionately known by her grandchildren, enjoyed collecting and admiring unicorns and frogs.

In later years as a doting grandmother, there was an event that also earned her the nickname, “Granny Disco”.  This nickname will forever bring fond memories and a smile to her families face and heart, especially to her caring, loving and pride and joy, sons, Rodney and Sam.  Dolly loved her family and instilled in her sons, strong values that have served them well.

A nurse by trade, family was her heart…

Dolly was the beloved mother to Rodney Jarrett & his wife, Hope and Sam Jarrett; sister to Jane Andrews & husband, Ron; Granny Dolly to Evan Jarrett, Natalie Jarrett, Savannah Jarrett & Cody Walker;  lifelong friend to Betsy Walker and her faithful canine companion, Reece.

Dolly’s family invites you to visit with them on Friday, May 17, 2019, from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m., at Cumby Family Funeral Service located at 206 Trindale Road in Archdale, North Carolina.  The family would also like to extend an invitation to celebrate Granny Dolly’s life at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, May 17, 2019, also at Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale. 

Interment will be immediately following the service at Floral Garden Park Cemetery in High Point, North Carolina.
