Donald M. Halberda, born in Detroit, Michigan on August 28th, 1932; son of the late Michael and Mary Halberda, passed away August 4th, 2022 from complications due to COVID. Donald passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family.
Donald left behind his loving wife of over 70 years, Janice Halberda; two sons, Michael Halberda (Paula) of California, Thomas Halberda (Cynthia) of Texas; two daughters, Debra Richardson (late Gordon) of Indiana and Nancy LePard (Robert) of Colfax, one brother, John Halberda (Judy) of South Carolina, eleven Grandchildren and fifteen Great-Grandchildren.
Donald proudly served his Country, enlisting in the US Navy in 1951. A graduate of Lawrence Technological University in Michigan and an aeronautical engineer and headed up several successful and classified projects in Michigan, Massachusetts and Florida throughout his career.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Immaculate Heart of Mary, Military Veterans and Families Outreach at 4145 Johnson Street High Point, NC 27265.
Due to COVID restrictions a Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.
