Donald Wayne Rhew

Mr. Donald Wayne Rhew, 71, resident of Thomasville, died September 12, 2023 at his home.

He was born September 28, 1951 in Guilford County, a son to the late Clarence J. and Ada Hopkins Rhew.  As a resident of this area all his life, he attended both Cloverdale Church of the Living God and Full Armor Christian Center.  Donald loved God, worked hard, and always cared for his family.  On March 10, 1972, he married the former Delphine Elise Hobbs, who preceded him in death on August 7, 2021.  His sister, Rebecca Byerly, also preceded him in death.

Surviving are three daughters, Angela Hatfield of Thomasville, Sherry Rhew of Thomasville, and Selena Lackey and husband Darrell of Thomasville; his brother, Tommy Rhew and wife Denise of Trinity; two grandchildren, Joshua Vickers and Christian Lackey; and his close extended family, including but not limited to Kay Benton, Carolyn Macon, Pete Slack, Garland Slack and J.H. Slack.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 15, in the chapel of the Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale with Rev. David Perry and Rev. Randy Ingram officiating.  Entombment will follow the service at Holly Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum in Thomasville.  The family will receive friends from 9:30-11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.  Memorials may be directed to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network at 1500 Rosecrans Ave. Ste. 200, Manhattan Beach, CA 90266.
