Donna Reed Parris Russell

TRINITY-Donna Reed Parris Russell, 72, met Jesus face to face and was reunited with loved ones on Saturday, March 17, 2018.

Donna was born August 2, 1945, to the late Reed and Marshall Smith Parris. In December of 1963, she married the love of her life, Clarence “Stan” Russell.  They built a beautiful life together for 50 years, until his Passing in 2014. 

Donna Russell became the “Master of Anything” as the secretary and Treasurer of First Baptist Church of Archdale in 1980.  Her service to God and the members there became her life’s work for nearly 40 years.  Donna’s dedication to FBCA and its congregation could never be measured and her shoes will never be filled.   Her absence there will be tangible for years to come. In addition to her parents and her husband, Donna was preceded in death by her oldest daughter, Lisa Russell Motley, in 2014. 

Missing her but cherishing a lifetime of memories, are her daughters, Angela Russell Barrow and husband Todd of Trinity, and Amy Russell Walker and husband Mark, also of Trinity; her grandchildren, Tyler and Jacob Motley, Claire and Caitlyn Barrow, Bryant and Ben Walker;  great-grandchildren, Jackson and Brayden Motley.  Also surviving are her sisters, Nan Parris Edwards and Carolyn Parris Clodfelter, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Donna’s strength and determination were never as evident as they were in her final days. Her daughters, Angela and Amy, wish to give thanks and blessings to their team from All Generations of Asheboro and the staff at Hospice of Randolph County. 

A service to celebrate Donna’s life will be held on Tuesday, March 20, at 11 am, at Joy Community Fellowship Church, formerly known as Southside Baptist Church at 2515 Bellemeade St, High Point. Reverend Bob Ferguson will officiate. Entombment will follow in Floral Garden Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, from 9:45 am until 10:45 am at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Donna’s memory may be directed to Hospice of Randolph County, PO Box 9, Asheboro, NC 27204-0009.
