Dora Darleen (Hill) Spaugh

June 9, 1932 ~ July 25, 2020 (age 88) 88 Years Old

Tribute

High Point – Dora Darleen Hill Spaugh, 88, passed away on Saturday, July 25, 2020.

She was born in Randolph County on June 9, 1932 to the late John B and wife Clara Fields Hill.  She has been a resident of the triad area all of her life.  She was a member of Trulite Baptist Church in High Point.  Before her retirement, she enjoyed serving others.  She received Training and was a part of the Rock of Ages Prison Ministry. She also was a Certified Nursing Assistant at High Point Hospital.  After leaving there, she assisted those in need of her talents in a hands-on home environment.  It was her passion to help those in need.  Other positions she has held include school cafeteria and day care. 

She loved the Lord and wanted others to know Him as well.  She always was a witness to those she came in contact with leaving a testimony behind of Jesus Christ.  She loved her family dearly and loved spending time with them. 

She leaves behind two sons, Roger Spaugh, Arnie Spaugh and his wife Deborah, one daughter, Rhonda Hawks and her husband Ron.  Her nine grandchildren Amy Askew and her husband Alan, Tracy Lenderman, and Stephanie Spargo and her husband Jon, Sarah Dabbs and her husband Barrett, Andrew Spaugh and his wife Sarah, and Jordan Spaugh and his wife Michelle, Jessica Wright and her husband Nick, Dani Hobbs and her husband Dan, and Alex Spaugh and his wife Sara.  In addition, she also had 17 great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are three sisters, Doris Rogers and her husband, Rodney; Mary Jackson; Nellie Auman and her husband Robert; step-sisters, Kay Winfrey and her husband, Bob; Fay Trotter and her husband, Gary; step-brother, David Lackey.

In addition to her parents, those who preceded her in death is her precious daughter-in-law, Debbie Spaugh, (Roger's wife) four brothers, Harrison Hill, John Hill, Jr.,  Bill Hill, and Samuel (Tom) Hill, one sister, Judy Peele;  a step-sister, Susan Gray and step-brother, Roger Lackey.

No formal services will be held due to the pandemic.  The family will hold a private burial.  Officiating will be Pastor Jerry Whiteheart and Tracy Lenderman will provide music.
