It is with great sadness that the family of Doris Katherine Myers Moring announces her passing on November 1, 2018.
Doris, born in North Wilkesboro on November 5, 1925 to the late James Worth Myers and Ella Inscore Myers, was the oldest daughter of ten children. Her family later moved to High Point. She married the love of her life, Burnerd Bickett Moring in February,1947 and spent her married life making a loving home for her family. She was a faithful member of Lexington Avenue Baptist Church of High Point, North Point.
Doris was loved, will be missed and her memory will always be cherished. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years as well as her sister, Crystal Daniels.
Doris is survived by her children, Thomas Bickett Moring (Cotten) of Greensboro, Carolyn Fisinessi (Claudio) of Tampa, Florida and Lynne Davis (Dwight) of Pittsboro. She also leaves behind eight brothers and sisters: Frank Myers (Cleo), Dell Fritts, Bettie Murphy, Lee Harbinson, Paul Myers (Nora Lee), Gerry Hollingsworth (Kenneth), Fran Zimmerman and Faye Payne (Dwight). Grandmommy Doris will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren, Ashley Moring Voss (Jason), Emily Moring Buckland (Jason), Sara Davis Hartlaub (Jeremy), Lauren Davis Gordon (Miles) and Dwight Davis IV,as well as nine great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Cumby Family Funeral Service, 101 Eastchester Drive in High Point from 1:00 until 1:45 pm on Thursday, November 8, 2018, followed by a celebration of Doris’ life at 2:00 pm. The Reverend C. Thomas Latimer will officiate and inurnment will follow at Floral Garden Park Cemetery in High Point.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff of Pennybyrn at Maryfield, especially the Smith-Deal House, for their loving and constant care given to their Mother over the years.
