Doris Almeta Cameron Shehan, 91, of High Point passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 5, 2019 at the Hospice Home at High Point.
Doris was born on February 9, 1928 in High Point to the late John S. Cameron and Agnes Pearl Goins Cameron. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Donald Shehan and a brother, William Jesse Cameron.
Doris was a loving mother, grandmother to her children and enjoyed time with the grandchildren. She retired as the Executive Housekeeper after 25 plus years working at Wesleyan Arms Nursing Center in High Point. She enjoyed the beach life and moved to Murrell’s Inlet and while living there she went to work at Books-a-Million. She was active on social media, an avid reader, staying current on both local and national news and enjoyed Interior Design crafting.
Those who will cherish Doris’s memories are her children, Janet Beasley and husband, Donald of Thomasville, Kim Maxwell of High Point, Laurie Curtin and husband, Robert of Cumming, Georgia, Michael Reedy and wife, Angela of High Point; brother, John Charles Cameron and wife, Wanda of Myrtle Beach; grandchildren, Jason, Scotty, Rebekah, John Nolan, Cameron, Jacob, Chance, Caden; and great-grandchildren, Mason, Isabella and Archer.
The family will greet friends 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at Cumby Family Funeral Service, 1015 Eastchester Drive in High Point. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 9, 2019 in the Chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service with Reverend Michelle Foster-Beckerleg officiating the service and burial will follow at Floral Garden Park Cemetery.
