Dorothy Lou (Blevins) Neff

High Point – Ms. Dorothy Lou Blevins Neff, 80, passed away Wednesday, October 9, 2019.

Born May 20, 1939, in Ashe County, North Carolina ("Nor' Core'lina"), Dorothy was the daughter of the late Barney Ellis Blevins, Sr., and Ruby Blevins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Carol Blevins Price, a brother, Barney Ellis Blevins, Jr., and two nephews, Michael Blevins and Paul Blevins.

Dottie was a veteran of the Women's Army Corp. In 1977, she joined the Seventh-day Adventist Church. She was a member of Thomasville Seventh-day Adventist Church.

She had her Associate degrees in Early Childhood Education and Nutrition. In her early forties, she graduated in the top of her class as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She was in her early sixties when she went back to school and graduated with a degree in Cosmetology, and went on to teach as a Nail Technician. Her love was cleaning homes, and she had her own business, Dottie's Cleaning Service.

She will be remembered for her kind and loving spirit, and her dedication to God and her family. Her prayers and example will continue to bless those she loved.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Tabitha Lynn Neff Williams and Kenny Williams; granddaughter, Marissa Carol Ann Williams; brother, Michael Eugene Blevins, Sr.; nieces who were like daughters to her, Michelle Blevins, Erica Blevins Jackson, and Lisa Price Kirkpatrick; a nephew, Barney Blevins, III; a great-niece, Madison Lee Watson; and great-nephews, Bradley and Jerrett Jackson, and Parker Kirkpatrick, as well as many other extended family members.

Her celebration of life will be announced. Arrangements by Cumby Family Funeral Service in High Point.
