Dorothy Mae Cook Powers

TRINITY- Dorothy Mae Cook Powers, 78, passed away on Monday, May 3, 2021.

She was born on October 3, 1942 in Dillon County, SC, a daughter of the late Hope and Donnie Miller Cook. A resident of this area most of her life, she was homemaker who enjoyed taking care of her family, working in her flowers, and listening to gospel music. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt and will be dearly missed. In addition to her parents, preceding her in death were a granddaughter, Tana Powers; a grandson, Derrick Powers; two sisters, Leila Garner and Shirley Powers and two brothers, Bobby Jean Cook and Johnny Cook.

She leaves to cherish her memory; her children, Jeaninne Russell and her husband, Jerry, Ronnie Powers and his wife, Angie, Rick powers and his wife, Cindy; her brothers, Tommy Cook and his wife, Betty, Joseph Cook and his wife, Magdalene, Allen Cook and his wife, Peggy; her sisters, Linda Lummis and her husband, Tommy, Catherine Stewart and her husband, Ron, Glenda Cook and Bonnie McDowell. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Chandler, Nyah and Jake.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday afternoon, May 8, from 2 until 4 p.m., at Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale.
