TRINITY – Douglas “Doug” Floyd Foster, 88, died Thursday, November 25, 2021, at the Hospice Home at High Point.
He was born May 22, 1933, in Jacksonville, Florida, and was the son of the late Thomas David and Vera Maude Barker Foster. Doug was an insurance agent with Durham Life Insurance for more than thirty years. He was a charter member of Colonial Baptist Church and was actively involved in the ministry of the church where he had former served as a deacon.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-seven years, Juanita Hardy Foster, whom he married on February 1, 1952; and a brother, Donald L. Foster.
Doug is survived by his children, Douglas Floyd Foster, Jr. (Felecia) of Asheboro and Dawne Foster Hubbell (Chris) of Archdale; six grandchildren, Alecia Fuller (Tripp), Megan Fox (Jeremy), Cory Foster (Paige), Seth Foster (Brooklyn), Adam Hubbell and Jennifer Hubbell; six great-grandchildren, Elgin Fuller, Haven Fuller, Khora Fuller, Carolyne Fox, Austin Fox and Tyler Fox; sister, Delores Foster Harrelson of Ruffin, North Carolina; and sister-in-law, Gertrude Foster of Archdale.
Funeral service celebrating Doug’s life will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, December 2, 2021, at Colonial Baptist Church with Pastor Mark Hollar officiating. Burial will follow at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery.
